Visual Storytelling
My approach starts with the idea: what should the audience feel, what should they understand, and what visual choices can communicate that without needing everything explained out loud? From there, I build the production around the story through shot design, locations, movement, composition, continuity, editing, and pacing.
I’m especially drawn to concepts where the camera, environment, or structure becomes part of the narrative itself. Whether I’m directing a music video, documentary, or short-form piece, I try to give every visual decision a reason for being there.

I visited every house I ever lived for a music video
My song I’m Yours was built around the idea of physically walking through my own life.
I filmed the music video across 16 locations throughout California, including Tracy, San Jose, Fresno, Los Angeles, and Lathrop. Each location represented a different chapter of my life, eventually leading to the place where I proposed to my future wife.
Throughout the video, the camera remains stationary while I walk from the left side of the frame to the right, creating the illusion that I’m continuously walking from one stage of life into the next.
That simple visual rule became the storytelling device for the entire film.
The Planning
This project required coordinating a shoot across Northern, Central, and Southern California while maintaining visual continuity between locations filmed hundreds of miles apart.
I planned the sequence of locations chronologically, determined how each location connected to the story, mapped travel between cities, and designed each shot so the movement could transition naturally into the next scene.
The production required balancing:
16 separate filming locations
travel across multiple California regions
location accessibility and timing
consistent framing and camera placement
wardrobe and visual continuity
chronological storytelling
efficient routing and production scheduling
