PART 2 — BEAT SELECTION

Because It Makes You Feel Accepted

By college, alcohol had evolved from a family tradition into something much more useful: a social tool.

As August struggles with confidence, identity, and fitting in, drinking becomes a shortcut to connection. The awkwardness disappears. The overthinking quiets down. For the first time, it feels easier to become the person everyone else seems to want him to be.

While selecting beats for the album, August reflects on fraternity life, friendship, social pressure, and the emotional cost of constantly performing for acceptance. Through stories from friends and reflections on his early music career, he explores how alcohol became less about having fun and more about becoming someone he believed others would approve of.
